Recently, Jeff Campbell has completed the task of fabricating all new wood components for the mill. Here are a few of the images.
Link to Jeff's images We chose native Texas pecan as a replacement wood. There was much speculation about the species of the original wood but no clear determination was made. Pecan is a good choice for this application in my opinion. It is hard enough to be used as a structural member and will also have a beautiful appearance.
Diversified Machining in Bertram, Texas is repairing many of the damaged parts. They have removed a pulley that was stuck on the main shaft. and are preparing to weld the cracked main frame and pour new babbit bearings.
